Quick answer

The 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup runs from June 24 to July 25, 2027, in Brazil, the first edition played in South America. Thirty-two teams play 64 matches in eight host cities: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife and Salvador. Brazil open the tournament at the Maracanã on June 24, and the final is played there on July 25. In the U.S., every match streams on Netflix.

For the first time, the Women's World Cup is coming to South America. FIFA has already published where and when all 64 matches will be played, which means you can start planning now, even before the teams know their groups.

Here is the full picture: the dates, the eight host cities and stadiums, where Brazil play, the knockout calendar, how to watch from the U.S. and what will only be decided in the coming months.

When is the 2027 Women's World Cup?

The tournament starts on Thursday, June 24, 2027, and ends with the final on Sunday, July 25, 2027. That is 32 days of soccer, with 32 national teams and 64 matches.

The first stage is a group stage of eight groups of four, played from June 24 to July 8. After one rest day, the Round of 16 runs from July 10 to 13, the quarter-finals are on July 16 and 17, the semi-finals on July 20 and 21, the bronze final on July 24 and the final on July 25.

FIFA's schedule says all kick-off times are local times. The eight host cities all use Brasília time, and Brazil doesn't use daylight saving time, so during the tournament Brazil is one hour ahead of U.S. Eastern time. Exact kick-off times have not been published yet.

Which cities and stadiums host the matches?

Eight Brazilian cities host games, and FIFA says each of them stages at least seven matches, including at least one knockout game. Four cities host matches until the Round of 16, two go as far as the quarter-finals, and São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro host the last week of the tournament.

The Maracanã is the star of the list. FIFA notes it will become only the third stadium to host both a men's World Cup final and a Women's World Cup final, after the Råsunda Stadium in Solna, Sweden, now demolished, and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

Where and when do Brazil play?

As hosts, Brazil are already placed in Group A, and their three group games are fixed. FIFA spread them across three of the biggest cities:

  • Thursday, June 24: opening match at the Estádio do Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro.
  • Tuesday, June 29: Arena Itaquera, São Paulo.
  • Sunday, July 4: Estádio Nacional, Brasília.

Brazil's opponents will only be known after the final draw. If you want to see the hosts in a packed stadium, these three dates are the ones to watch when tickets go on sale.

When are the knockout rounds and the final?

The knockout bracket is fixed by group position, so you already know where each Round of 16 game will be played, even without the team names. "1A v 2B" means the winner of Group A against the runner-up of Group B.

If Brazil win Group A, their Round of 16 game is in Fortaleza on July 10. If they finish second, it is in Belo Horizonte on July 11.

What does Salvador host?

I live in Salvador, so here is a closer look at one host city. The Arena Fonte Nova stages seven matches: six group games and one Round of 16 game.

  • Group stage: June 25 (Group A), June 27 (Group F), June 29 (Group H), July 2 (Group E), July 4 (Group A) and July 7 (Group F).
  • Round of 16: July 12, winner of Group G against the runner-up of Group H.

Two of those games belong to Group A, Brazil's group, though Brazil themselves play in Rio, São Paulo and Brasília. The stadium sits in the middle of the city, next to the Dique do Tororó, a lagoon with large sculptures of Orixás, the deities of Afro-Brazilian religions, floating on the water.

How can you watch the 2027 Women's World Cup in the U.S.?

On Netflix. Netflix is the exclusive home of the Women's World Cup in the United States and Canada for both the 2027 and 2031 editions. According to Netflix, every match streams live and is included in all plans, with English and Spanish broadcasts in the U.S. and English and French broadcasts in Canada.

The final draw on December 11, 2026, also streams live on Netflix in the U.S. FIFA and Netflix say the start time will be announced closer to the event.

When do tickets go on sale?

Not yet. On FIFA's tickets page, read on October 23, 2026, the only option for the 2027 Women's World Cup is to register your interest in tickets or hospitality. FIFA has not published sale dates or prices there. By late August, FIFA said more than 800,000 people had already registered interest.

Registering only means you will be told when sales open. Buy only through FIFA's official channels, and be careful with sites that already list prices before FIFA has announced any.

What is still not decided?

Three big pieces are still missing:

  • The teams. In early September, 18 of the 32 teams had qualified, Brazil included, according to Netflix. In North America, the U.S. and Canada play for four direct spots at the CONCACAF W Championship, hosted in the U.S. from November 27 to December 5, 2026, and Europe's play-offs end in the same window. The last three places go through a play-off tournament in February 2027.
  • The groups. The final draw is on Friday, December 11, 2026, at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro.
  • Kick-off times. FIFA says it will publish an updated schedule after the draw, with group-stage games assigned to teams and kick-off times confirmed.

Until then, the dates and cities above are the part you can plan around, with FIFA's usual note that the schedule is subject to change.
