How we write

Last updated

Every fact on this site should be something you can check. This page explains where the information comes from and how each article is put together.

Which sources do we use?

We start with the people who organize the game and the records that track it:

  • FIFA and the tournament organizers: official announcements, the match schedule, ticketing and volunteer pages.
  • Governments and host cities: entry and visa rules, transport, public safety and tourism offices.
  • Leagues and governing bodies, such as U.S. Soccer, youth leagues and college athletics associations, plus their own published rules.
  • Reference press that reported on a decision, when the official page doesn't cover it.

Each article lists the exact pages it used under "Sources."

How do we handle dates, venues and prices?

Dates, venues and prices are copied from the official page, read on the day the article is written or updated. When something is still undecided, such as group opponents before the draw or kick-off times, we say so instead of guessing. Plans change, so always confirm on the official page before you buy a ticket or book a trip.

Do we cover scores and breaking news?

No. Live scores and match reports are covered better and faster by big sports sites. We write guides that stay useful: how the tournament works, how to plan a trip, how youth soccer works and what it costs.

How is AI used?

AI tools help with research and first drafts. A person, Marcos Salles, reads the sources, checks every fact and edits every article before it goes live. Read more on the About page.

What about headlines?

A headline should tell you what the article is about and match what it says. We don't use teasers that hide the answer, exaggerated claims or fake urgency.

Where do the images come from?

From free libraries such as Wikimedia Commons, used under their license terms. The credit and license are shown under each image.

How often are articles updated?

When an organizer changes a date, a venue, a price or a rule, the article is updated and the "Updated" date at the top changes. We don't change dates for edits that leave the content the same.

Who decides what is covered?

Only the editor. The site may show ads served by Google; advertisers have no say in topics or content. There are no sponsored articles and no affiliate links.
